Information about hockey: each player has a different idea about what makes hockey so enjoyable. There are certain things that make people more attached to this sport and which are often the answers to this very question. This includes dynamics, techniques, the need for coordination as well as fairness and a sense of team spirit. Girls and boys are able to progress in this sport at the same rate and with the same enthusiasm and success.

Information about field hockey:
Field hockey is an Olympic team sport for men and women. The aim of the game is to get the ball into the opponent's goal. The ball is only hit with the left, flat side which is on the end of a curved stick. A goal is scored by a player in the opposing team only within the marked circle area. The circle consists of 2 arcs (with a radius of 14.63 m) around the left and right goal posts as well as a connecting line that runs parallel to the goal line. The pitch is 91.40 m long and 55 m wide, the goal is 3.66x2.14 m. Like football a field hockey team has 1 goalkeeper and 10 players. In comparison to other ball games, hockey is basically a non-contact sport. A field hockey game lasts for two 35-minute halves with a 10-minute half-time break. In youth games and also tournaments, the playing time is sometimes shortened.

Information about indoor hockey:
Indoor hockey is different to street hockey, floorball or ice hockey – it is very similar to field hockey. The game rules are largely the same, the major differences are that: the indoor court/pitch is between 36-44 m long, between 18-22 m wide and is therefore smaller. The goal is 3x2 m and also smaller than in field hockey. Along the sidelines, on both side, there is a 10-cm-tall wooden board that prevents the ball from escaping. The teams get the additional tactical advantages from the rebound effect that the board provides. An indoor hockey team consists of a goalkeeper and 5 players, who can be substituted with a further 6 "floating" players. The indoor sticks are different to the ones used in field hockey. They are lighter and have a notably narrower club that makes scooping the ball easier. The main difference in the rules is that for indoor hockey, the ball must not be hit. The ball must be kept flat on the floor, with the exception of when scoring a goal inside the shooting circle. It is only here that high swings and shots are allowed ensuring no players are at risk.
