The Sport-Thieme leather batting ball features a classic design. Double- and hand-stitched, the genuine-leather ball is incredibly hard-wearing and excellent-grip. The ball doesn’t bounce and – being bright red – can easily be seen on any surface.

The Sport-Thieme "Leather" batting ball is suitable for both bat-and-ball games and various training drills. It's an excellent prop for Schlagball – a German team sport similar to rounders, deemed to be the origin of baseball. The game is played with 12 players on each team who take turns fielding and batting. The players of the batting team put the ball into play by throwing it in the air and hitting it with the bat. The fielding team then tries to catch the ball or to scoop it up from the ground and to throw it at the runner. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
