What is kinesiology?
Kinesio taping has been used in Asia for more than 30 years. The Japanese chiropractor, Kenzo Kase, developed a special tape material and used it to try and support the body's own healing processes. Thick, heavy and elastic: his Kinesio tape was designed with the characteristics of the skin in mind. It therefore adapts perfectly to the physiological movement of muscles and joints. Applying the tape not only improves the microcirculation of the muscles, but also the surrounding tissue. Kenzo Kase's findings: it is better to remove pro-inflammatory substances so that the tissue can be decongested, which also reduces the pressure on the skin and the body's pain sensors. Kase determined from the cases examined that, generally, use of the tape resulted in rapid pain relief, improvement in muscle function and stimulation of circulation, which also led to an improved kinesthesia, or sense of movement.
